Another ‘Do Not Bathe’ Warning For St. Anne’s North From Environment Agency

A warning not to bath in the sea at St. Anne’s North has been issued today (Tuesday 25th July) after sewage was reportedly discharged from overflow pipes. The Environment Agency’s official water quality data states that there are four beaches in Lancashire where people shouldn’t swim – St Anne’s North, Blackpool North, Fleetwood and Morecambe North.

Also, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), a marine conservation charity which monitors water quality in the UK, has issued warnings for after storm sewage was discharged into the sea within the past 48 hours. The warnings follow a period of heavy rain over the weekend. Their five warnings for ‘pollution risk forecast or incident alert’ are , St Anne’s, St Anne’s North, Blackpool North, Blackpool Central and Blackpool South.
