Blackpool awarded £39.5 million in the LARGEST regeneration package in the UK

It has been announced by the Secretary of  State, Robert Jenrick, that Blackpool has been awarded £39.5 million from the Government – the largest regeneration package in the whole country!
Scott Benton, the Conservative MP for Blackpool South, shared the video announcement on his Facebook page, in which Jenrick thanks Benton for his efforts, as well as local MP Paul Maynard and the Blackpool Town Deal Board.
Benton commented: “Paul Maynard & I have been lobbying ministers for months to get the maximum possible amount of funding for Blackpool and I’m delighted that we’ve secured this from government.”
The money awarded to Blackpool will be spent on regenerating the town and creating new jobs, a necessary step forward for the town that has had suffered enormous job losses across the board. The regeneration projects will further invest in the town, and hopefully attract new businesses and visitors.
Benton added: “I was elected on a promise of securing funds for Blackpool and levying up. This announcement today is a major step forward to help us to achieve this.”
