Lytham St. Anne’s Weather Alert – Watch Out For Very Heavy Rain & Possible Flooding

There is a weather alert in place for the North West of England with the Met Office saying that over the course of 36 hours between 50mm and 100mm of rain could fall in our area. This week’s heavy and persistent rain alert for Lancashire is given as between 6 a.m. on Tuesday 19th September and 6 p.m. on Wednesday 20th September.

Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey warned that storms are possible as the remnants of Hurricane Lee, which hit New England in the US and eastern Canada, is set to move across the UK this week , hitting our shores between Tuesday and Thursday. Fortunately, it will no longer be a hurricane by the time it reaches UK shores, but storms and localised flooding are possible.
