MPs have voted overwhelmingly tonight (Monday 19th June) to approve a damning report that found that the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson misled Parliament.
With 354 votes in favour, MPs endorsed the sanctions against Johnson which were recommended by the committee, including banning him from having a pass for future access to Parliament. Just seven MPs voted against the Privileges Committee’s findings, in a humiliating turn of events for the former Prime Minister.
Fylde MP Mark Menzies and Blackpool South MP Scott Benton did NOT vote.
In a cruel twist of fate for the former Prime Minister, today’s action coincides with his birthday. Johnson is 59 today. Will colleagues and friends ambush him with a birthday cake?
