Peter Reid To Have His Hair Cut Off At The Taps For A Very Special Charity

Peter Reid has launched a very special fundraiser for the Happy House, which is a lifeline for the children of Watamu in Kenya,  by having his hair cut off by celebrity hair dresser Pat Wood at the Taps in Lytham on Saturday.  Peter (shown in the featured photograph) has already had his hair braided and is ready for charity hair cut which will take place in the Taps on the evening of 17th Feb, 2024.

And this is truly a very special appeal. Founded by Blackpool’s Sue and Dave Hayward, the Happy House in Watamu, Kenya, has enriched the lives of hundreds of underprivileged orphans and abandoned children. In 2010, the Haywards achieved their dream when they opened their Happy House children’s home in this most deprived area of Africa. They are now Mama and Papa to the Happy House family, which provides a home to up to 100 needy children, either permanently or temporarily during a family a crisis.

As a consequence, since the Happy House opened many, many, children’s lives have been truly transformed by the loving care and opportunities provided by the Happy House. With hard work, dedication, and enduring love Sue and Dave have turned their vision of providing a family home for vulnerable children into a reality.

However, sadly, very heavy rains last year have taken their toll on the homes roof, affecting the children’s living and sleeping conditions and the Happy House is in desperate need of a new one.
