Sunday 7th January is the deadline for views on the proposal for a change in use of a house located at 189 St Andrews Road South in Lytham St Anne’s FY8 1YB. The house would become a residential care home for three young people (under 18 years of age) with non-resident carders. It includes the conversion of the attached garage to a habitable room, addition of a pitched roof above the converted garage to side elevation and erection of a single story/rear extension.
Local residents, who have received the letter pictured below, have expressed their concerns about the appropriateness of the change of use. A spokesperson said, ‘Fylde Council has notified a handful of residents about a Planning Proposal to convert a bungalow to a Private Children’s Home for young people under 18 years of age. The home will be situated in a residential area occupied by mainly retired/elderly residents. If you live within this area you might want to review the details of the proposals and make your views known.’
