The Preston Office of Select Car Leasing, one of the UK’s largest independent vehicle leasing specialists, is putting its weight behind local rugby union team Fylde RFC.

Select’s Lancashire hub has confirmed sponsorship of Fylde RFC for the 2022-23 season, taking advertising on the Back Fence of the club’s Woodlands Memorial Ground in Lytham St Anne’s.

A spokesperson for Fylde RFC thanked Select for its most welcome support, and added: ‘We look forward to working with you throughout the season.’

Steven Clarke, Principal at Select Car Leasing’s Preston Office, headquartered in Ashton-on-Ribble, said he was ‘delighted’ to play a part in the continued story of an historic club founded more than 100 years ago.

Steven said: “Fylde RFC has been a big part of the local community here in Lancashire, going all the way back to its formation in 1919, so we’re proud to be part of that heritage. The club sits just 15 minutes away from our office, so we’ve enjoyed attending matches and going to dinners at the ground.

I even got to meet the legendary former England captain Bill Beaumont, who is one of the many famous players to play for Fylde, which was a genuine honour. Both myself and my fellow Principal Tony Cameron are delighted to be involved with Fylde RFC and we look forward to a long collaboration.’

Fylde RFC play in the National League 2 North division, the fourth rung of the league system and just three promotions away from the Premiership. The team often welcomes more than 1,000 fans to home matches.

As part of Select’s relationship with Fylde RFC, Steven Clarke and the Preston team will be offering club members exclusive leasing discounts.
