St. Anne’s Christmas Lights Big Switch On – This Saturday!

The 2023 St. Anne’s Christmas Lights Switch On returns on the 25th of November to the town centre.

Santa will once again be visiting the satellite shopping areas bringing good cheer and presents to local children. The tour will take place between 12 noon and 3 p.m.

From 3 p.m. you are warmly invited to join Churches Together in the Amphitheatre for the nativity ceremony and carols.

This is followed by musical entertainment on the main stage, beginning at 4 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. with local community groups, schools and performers.  These include the Mayfield School Choir, Emma Louise Jackson and Kerry Rogers. Also there will be a sneak preview of Christmas shows as the cast from Across the Boards Theatre School & Productions present Shrek whilst the OLSS Operatic & Dramatic Society present Dick Whittington. All this entertainment comes before the big Christmas Lights Switch On which will take place at 5.30 p.m.

The event is funded, organised, and delivered by the Community and Neighbourhood working group (CAN), the event and community arm of St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council. Every year the Town Council invests approx. £20,000 into the Christmas Lights display.

Also on Saturday, whilst in St. Anne’s, you can enjoy the St. Anne’s Reformed Church Christmas Fair. Details are shared on the poster below.
