St. Anne’s Kite Festival Introduces A Brilliant Kite Art Competition

The St Anne’s International Kite Festival will grace the beautiful beaches of St Anne’s with a vivid display of kites next weekend – from the 8th to the 10th of September. Once again, this brilliant event promises to transform the sky into a captivating canvas of vibrant colours, showcasing the remarkable talents of kite flyers from both the UK and various corners of the world.

And to compliment and celebrate the Festival  there is an exciting competition open to participants aged 16 and under. Young talents are invited to showcase their creativity by crafting and submitting their own kite art. By doing so, they enter the running for a chance to win attractive prizes. The competition will be split into three age brackets, and a winner will be selected from each group:

  • Under 7 years old.
  • Aged 7 to 11.
  • Aged 12 to 16.

The competition kicked off on Thursday, 31 August and the  submission window will remain open until 11:59pm on Sunday, 10th September, allowing plenty of time for young artists to take part in this engaging opportunity.

Cllr Jayne Nixon, Lead Member of Tourism, Leisure, and Culture said: ‘We’re thrilled to provide a platform for our community’s young talents to showcase their skills through this competition. The Kite Festival stands as a remarkable event for people of all ages to enjoy. This competition not only offers young artists a chance to shine but also grants them the opportunity to take the centre stage alongside the skilled kite flyers who gather on the beautiful beaches of St Anne’s for this spectacular event.’
