Strikes Bring Big Changes to Royal Mail’s Last Posting Dates For Christmas 2022

Royal Mail has brought forward its last posting dates for Christmas as workers are set to strike on multiple dates in December due to their long running dispute over pay and working conditions. Strikes are planned for six days in December, including some of the busiest days for pre-Christmas deliveries.  Here are the proposed strike days:

  • Friday 9th December
  • Monday 11th December
  • Wednesday 14th December
  • Thursday 15th December
  • Friday 23rd December
  • Saturday 24th December (Christmas Eve)

Because of the disruption that the strikes are expected to cause in the run up to Christmas, the Royal Mail has decided to bring forward its last posting dates.

The last posting day for second class mail has been brought forward by seven days, from Monday 19th December to Monday 12th December.

The last date to post first class mail is now five days earlier, having been pushed forward from Wednesday 21st December to Friday 16th December.
