Lancashire Volunteer Partnership are looking for telephone befrienders in Lytham St Annes

Lancashire Volunteer Partnership have reached out to try and find local volunteers. The charity set up telephone calls with people who suffer loneliness and volunteer ‘Befrienders’.

The role entails just one hour a week that can be dedicated to a phone call with a member of the public. This could make an enormous difference to someone’s life, and give them something to look forward to every week.

As lockdown 2.0 is upon us, many people who live alone do not have much in the way of human contact as they are forced to stay inside and hide from the virus.

A friendly voice and a good chat over the phone can make a huge difference to someone’s state of mind, as mental health problems start to rise once more.
