A 23-year-old man from Ansdell has admitted sexually assaulting a 15-year-old on a school trip to Poland and possessing indecent images of children during an appearance at Blackpool Magistrates Court.
Jack Sanderson of Windsor Road in Ansdell, who at the time was also 15, took pictures of himself carrying out the sexual assault on an unconscious 15-year-old victim in a hotel room, eight years ago, back in 2015. These pictures only came to light when the now 23-year-old Sanderson’s home was raided by police.
Magistrates in Blackpool were told that as a consequence of the Police raid on Sanderson’s home over 6,000 indecent images of children were discovered, almost 1,000 of which were the most serious pornographic category. The pictures of the assault in Poland were found during this Police investigation.
Sanderson admitted four charges of possessing indecent images and the sexual assault.
In Blackpool Magistrates Court his defence stated that as some of the charges dated back some time they could be appropriately dealt with by magistrates. The magistrates disagreed and said that Sanderson should be sentenced at Preston Crown Court where he was bailed to appear on Wednesday 4th October.
