Northern Lights Predicted To Be Visible From Lytham St. Anne’s Tonight

Hopefully, residents and visitors to Lytham St. Anne’s will able to catch the Northern Lights tonight (Friday 1st December).  Thanks to energetic expulsions from the sun, sky gazers will be treated to the spectacular natural light display from between 7p.m. and 2 a.m.

Meteorologists have predicted that the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) will be visible across the UK due to a geomagnetic storm. Tonight’s display stems from a barrage of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) – massive expulsions of plasma from the sun’s corona, its outermost layer.

The Fylde Coast provides the perfect place to see the Northern Lights on camera, but you need to be away from light pollution.
