St. Anne’s Christmas Lights Switch On – Full Details & Timings For This Saturday’s Events

St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council is delighted, once again, to deliver the St. Anne’s Christmas Lights Switch On for 2023. The Switch On of the Christmas Lights will take place in St. Anne’s Town Centre at 5.45 p.m. Saturday 25th November 2023.

Earlier in the day Santa will be visiting the satellite shopping areas and photos with Santa and free gifts will be available (if the elves have remembered to wrap the presents). Here is Santa’s journey………..

  • Alexandria Drive (12.00 noon)
  • Whalley Place (12.30 p.m.)
  • Headroomgate Road (1.00 p.m.)
  • St. Alban’s Road (Church Rd end) (1.45 p.m.)
  • Santa will conclude his journey at the St. David’s end of St. Alban’s Road (2.15 p.m.)

At 3.15 p.m. Churches Together will hold a Crib Blessing at the amphitheatre in the Town Centre. The event organised by St. Thomas’ Church will include music, carols and unveiling of the nativity crib.

The entertainment kicks off on the stage (located in the main town square car park) at 4.00 p.m. Here’s the line up on this festive Saturday:

  • Mayfield School at 4 p.m.
  • Our Lady Star of the Sea Operatic & Dramatic Society performing ‘Dick Whittington’ at 4.25 p.m.
  • Kerry Rogers with her Christmas songbook at 4.50 p.m.
  • Across the Boards performing ‘Shrek’ at 5.15 p.m.

At 5.45 p.m. The St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council Mayor Councillor Shirley Green with the Fylde Mayor Councillor Chery Little will switch on the lights, accompanied by the Town Crier and Santa, Councillors, Carnival Queen and guests.

The festivities are organised and run by the Community and Neighbourhood Working Group (CAN) of St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council. The lights and infrastructure are constantly updated and refreshed each year. We hope you enjoy the spectacle.
